Please read these Membership Terms & Conditions before joining. They explain how your membership works, including bookings, cancellations, planned studio closures, payments and ending your membership.
1. Membership entitlement
The Yoga for Mortals membership costs £79 per month and is a rolling monthly membership.
Membership gives you access to up to 4 eligible Yoga for Mortals classes per Monday–Sunday week, subject to availability and the published timetable.
Your weekly class allowance resets each Monday.
Classes must be booked through your Momoyoga account.
2. Planned holidays and studio closures
Yoga for Mortals may operate a reduced timetable or close for planned holiday periods, public holidays and other planned breaks.
As examples, the studio may have:
approximately one week closed over the Christmas and New Year period;
approximately one week of summer holiday closure; and
a reduced timetable or individual closures around Easter and bank holidays.
Where possible, planned closures and timetable changes will be communicated to members in advance.
Yoga for Mortals may arrange cover from another suitably qualified teacher during planned periods of absence. Where cover is provided, classes will continue to be available subject to the published timetable and availability.
Membership payments continue during planned holiday periods and planned closures. The membership does not guarantee that four classes will be available in every calendar week of the year.
3. Unexpected class cancellations
If a class has to be cancelled unexpectedly and suitable cover cannot be arranged, Yoga for Mortals will return the class to the member's membership allowance.
Where the class cannot reasonably be rebooked within the same week, Yoga for Mortals will allow the member to use the missed class in the following week, subject to availability. This may be managed manually through Momoyoga.
A carried-forward class will be in addition to the member's normal weekly class allowance for that following week.
4. Member illness
If you are unexpectedly unable to attend because of illness, please contact Yoga for Mortals as soon as possible.
Where appropriate, Yoga for Mortals may allow a missed class to be used in the following week, subject to availability.
If you are unable to practise for a longer period, you can contact Yoga for Mortals to discuss whether a temporary membership pause can be agreed under section 6.
5. Cancelling your membership
You can cancel your rolling membership by giving 30 days' notice.
Your membership remains active during the notice period and payments due during that period remain payable.
Cancellation must be made using the cancellation method provided by Yoga for Mortals.
Nothing in this term affects any statutory cancellation or refund rights that may apply to you.
6. Membership pauses
If you are unable to use your membership for a period of time because of illness, holiday or another exceptional circumstance, you can contact Yoga for Mortals to discuss whether a temporary pause can be agreed.
Any pause will be agreed on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to the circumstances and the arrangements available at the time.
If a pause is agreed, Yoga for Mortals will confirm the pause period, any payment adjustment and when your membership will resume.
A pause cannot be assumed unless it has been agreed with Yoga for Mortals in advance.
Nothing in this term affects any statutory rights you may have.
7. Bookings, cancellations and non-attendance
Members must book classes through their Yoga for Mortals account on Momoyoga. Class places are subject to availability.
Cancellations made at least 4 hours before the class start time will have the class returned to the member's weekly allowance.
Cancellations made less than 4 hours before the class, and non-attendance without cancellation, will count as a class used from the member's weekly allowance.
Cancellations should be made through the member's Momoyoga account.
If you are unable to cancel through Momoyoga because of a technical issue, please contact Yoga for Mortals as soon as possible.
8. Class availability and booking
Membership gives access to eligible Yoga for Mortals classes included within the membership, subject to availability and the published timetable.
Members can book classes through their Momoyoga account and may use Momoyoga's Book Ahead Weekly feature where this is available for a class.
Membership does not guarantee a place in any particular class, teacher, day or time.
If a class is full, members may join the waiting list through Momoyoga where this is available. Joining a waiting list does not guarantee a place in the class.
9. Unused class allowance
The membership provides access to up to four eligible classes per Monday–Sunday week.
Unused class places cannot normally be carried forward or rolled over into a future week. The weekly class allowance resets each Monday.
This does not affect any specific carry-forward arrangement provided under these terms following an unexpected class cancellation or, where agreed, member illness.
10. Waiting lists
If a class is full, you can join the waiting list through your Momoyoga account.
If a place becomes available, Momoyoga will notify you in accordance with its booking system.
Joining a waiting list does not guarantee a place in the class.
11. Failed payments
Membership payments are collected automatically each month through Momoyoga's payment system.
If a membership payment fails, you will be notified and should update your payment details as soon as possible.
Membership access may be suspended while a payment remains outstanding. You will not be able to make new bookings using your membership while it is suspended.
If an outstanding payment is not resolved, Yoga for Mortals reserves the right to cancel the membership.
Once the outstanding payment has been successfully collected, membership access may be restored where the membership has not been cancelled.
12. Price changes
The current membership price is £79 per month.
Yoga for Mortals may review the membership price from time to time to reflect changes in the cost of providing the membership and running the studio.
Members will be given at least 30 days' notice of any price increase before the new price takes effect.
Any price increase will apply from a future membership renewal/payment date and will not affect payments that have already been made.
If the membership price is increased, members may cancel their membership before the new price takes effect in accordance with the cancellation terms.
Nothing in this term affects any statutory rights you may have.
13. Suspension or termination by Yoga for Mortals
Yoga for Mortals may suspend or terminate a member's membership where there is a valid reason, including:
a membership payment remains unpaid;
the member seriously or repeatedly breaches these Membership Terms & Conditions;
the member behaves in a threatening, abusive, discriminatory or seriously disruptive manner towards the teacher, another member or anyone working at the studio;
the member's behaviour creates a health, safety or safeguarding concern; or
continuing the membership would not be reasonably possible for legal, safety or other serious reasons.
Where the issue is minor and can reasonably be put right, Yoga for Mortals will normally give the member an opportunity to resolve it before suspending or terminating the membership.
Yoga for Mortals may suspend membership immediately where this is reasonably necessary to protect the safety or wellbeing of the member, the teacher, other members or anyone else at the studio.
Where Yoga for Mortals terminates a membership, the member will not be charged for any period after the termination date for which the member has not received the membership service. Any refund due will be dealt with in accordance with the member's legal rights.
Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights the member may have.
14. Changes to these Membership Terms & Conditions
Yoga for Mortals may make reasonable changes to these Membership Terms & Conditions from time to time where necessary to:
comply with changes in the law or regulatory requirements;
reflect changes to the way the studio operates or administers memberships;
make minor or administrative changes; or
clarify or correct the terms.
Where a change is significant and materially affects a member's rights or the benefits of their membership, Yoga for Mortals will give members reasonable notice before the change takes effect.
Where a significant change materially reduces the benefits of the membership, members will have the option to cancel their membership before the change takes effect, without being required to continue beyond their normal notice period.
Any changes will be communicated to members before they take effect.
Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights the member may have.
15. Complaints and concerns
If you have a concern or complaint about your membership, a class, booking, payment or any other aspect of your experience at Yoga for Mortals, please contact us so that we have the opportunity to address it.
We will aim to acknowledge and respond to complaints within 5 working days.
If an issue requires further investigation or cannot be resolved within this timeframe, we will let you know and keep you informed.
We will deal with complaints fairly and reasonably and will try to resolve any issues wherever possible.
Nothing in this complaints process affects your statutory rights.
16. Health, safety, injury and personal belongings
Yoga involves physical activity and each member is responsible for practising within their own abilities.
Members should inform Yoga for Mortals before participating in a class if they have an injury, medical condition, pregnancy or other circumstance that may affect their ability to practise safely. Members should also tell the teacher if their circumstances change.
Members should follow reasonable instructions given by the teacher and should stop or modify a practice if they experience pain, dizziness, discomfort or feel that a movement is not appropriate for them.
Yoga for Mortals will provide classes with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability or statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Members are responsible for their personal belongings while at the studio. Yoga for Mortals cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings except where we are legally responsible.
17. Timetable and class changes
Yoga for Mortals may make reasonable changes to the studio timetable from time to time. This may include changing class times, adding new classes, changing teachers, replacing classes or removing classes.
Where possible, members will be given reasonable notice of planned timetable changes.
The timetable may change as the studio develops and membership does not guarantee access to a particular class, teacher, day or time.
If Yoga for Mortals makes a significant and ongoing reduction to the classes or benefits available through the membership, members will be given reasonable notice and will have the option to cancel their membership before the change takes effect, in accordance with their legal rights.
Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights the member may have.
18. Studio rules and member behaviour
Members are expected to behave respectfully and considerately towards the teacher, other members and anyone else at the studio.
Members must:
follow reasonable instructions given by the teacher;
respect the studio, its equipment and facilities;
avoid behaviour that disrupts or interferes with a class or other members' experience;
treat other people with respect and not engage in threatening, abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour; and
use studio equipment and facilities appropriately and leave the space reasonably tidy after use.
Members should arrive in sufficient time to prepare for class and avoid disrupting a class if they arrive late.
Members must not attend a class while under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
Yoga for Mortals may take reasonable action where a member does not follow these expectations, in accordance with the suspension and termination provisions in these terms.
The studio may have additional reasonable rules or instructions from time to time where these are necessary for the safe and effective running of the studio.
19. Privacy and personal data
Yoga for Mortals collects and uses personal information where necessary to provide and administer memberships, manage class bookings, process payments and communicate with members.
Personal information may be processed through third-party services used by Yoga for Mortals, including booking and payment platforms.
Yoga for Mortals will handle members' personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, who we may share it with, how long we keep it and the rights available to you.
The Privacy Policy is available on the Yoga for Mortals website and should be read alongside these Membership Terms & Conditions.
Marketing communications will be handled separately from communications necessary to administer your membership, and you can opt out of marketing communications where applicable.
20. General terms
These Membership Terms & Conditions, together with the information provided to you when you join, form the agreement between you and Yoga for Mortals in relation to your membership.
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply.
If Yoga for Mortals does not immediately enforce a particular term or right, this does not mean that we have permanently given up that right.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any statutory rights that you have as a consumer.
