. About Yoga for Mortals
Yoga in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex
I offer yoga classes in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, including Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha Yoga, and Yin Yoga.
With almost 20 years of personal yoga practice and 500-hour teacher training and additional Yin Yoga training with Yoga Medicine, my teaching blends modern movement science, functional anatomy, and traditional yogic principles.
A practice that meets you where you are
Yoga doesn’t need to look a certain way or feel intense to be meaningful.
Whether you want to build energy, improve strength, or slow down and restore, each class offers a different focus:
Hot Yoga — a dynamic, heated practice to build strength and focus
Vinyasa Flow — breath-led movement to develop flow and coordination
Hatha Yoga — steady, foundational practice to build alignment and awareness
Yin Yoga — slow, floor-based practice to release tension and support recovery
All classes are open to mixed levels and are guided with clear, supportive instruction.
My approach
My teaching is grounded in long-term, sustainable movement.
I aim to help students build awareness of their body, improve mobility, and develop a more balanced relationship with movement and rest.
The roots of yoga
Alongside the physical practice, I also draw inspiration from the philosophical origins of yoga.
If you’re interested in exploring this further, you can read my article on the
story of Shiva and the birth of yoga, which explores where the name and tradition come from.
